Hi, my name is Kaella. I'm a 33 year old single mom and I work full time in the news media. I'm also a Personal Trainer, Marathon Coach and work part-time as Orangetheory Fitness as a coach-in-training.
I started this blog as a way to document my son's milestones and then it slowly evolved to talking more about my running journey.
I started running in Decenber 2012 as a way to lose the baby weight (<60 pounds) and ran my first race in March 2013. I was hooked! I signed up and finished 9 more that year. In March, 2013, I decided to start run streaking. I ran a minimum one mile a day for over a year completing almost 400 days of running. In March, 2014 I completed the NYC Half Marathon and in 2015, I ran the NYC Marathon.
As a single mom most of my running usually happens on the treadmill before my son is up, while he plays in the basement or after he goes to bed. I save my outdoor runs for when he's spending time with his dad.
You can read more about my early running story HERE
I have Crohn's disease and have had several surgeries because of complications. In November 2005, I had a bowel resection and doctors removed four and a half feet of my small intestine and part of my bladder. I've been fairly health every since but do find that diet and exercise help keep me in remission! I'm passionate about finding a cure for Inflammatory Bowel disease and have volunteered for years with Crohn's and Colitis Canada.
I LOVE hearing from you. Feel free to comment below or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for stopping by!
