A Party, Two Movies and My Workouts

This weekend flew by but I definitely managed to squeeze in lots of rest and a few workouts and lots of fun; it was the perfect mix of three of my favourite things!

Friday evening I left work and headed straight to Orangetheory Fitness for a workout. It was a power day which meant lots of sprinting on the treadmill, during the 27 minutes, and then lots of body weight movements during the 27 minutes on the floor. Fridays are "Fun Sock Fridays" at OTF so I had to bust out #TheGibblers. I left a sweaty mess.

I grabbed a few groceries and then headed home to watch Bridget Jones' Baby. I went in with low expectations but ended up enjoying it.

Saturday morning, I was up at 4:45am to shower, eat breakfast and head to work at the gym for 6. I was there from 6am to 2pm but the time flew by. We have back to back classes, all day, so I'm usually on my feet running around the whole time. I logged 10 thousand steps before I even had my lunch.

That night it was our Christmas party. I napped in the afternoon so I wouldn't fall asleep by 9 o'clock. We had a sushi supper at Lighthouse (I've never been before but the food was amazing) and then went back to my boss' house to play board games. I had planned to stay late but when I couldn't stop yawning around midnight I decided it was time to call it a night.

Sunday morning, I managed to sleep in until 10 (unheard of for me!) I had planned to do a workout with my friend, and fellow coach Brenna, but wasn't sure if I felt up to it or if I wanted to go for a run. I texted her to see what she felt like doing and we decided on the gym. I'm glad we went. We ran two miles, rowed 1200 metres and then did ALL THE ARMS during the strength training component. I'm not going to lie, it was a struggle to lift my arms over my head this morning.

I spent the afternoon watching "This Is Us" (I'm almost caught up) and then headed to see La La Land with Brenna and Allie. I LOVED it!! An old school, classic-feel, type movie with amazing talent. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face.

I have a busy week planned with workouts, and London, and then I'm spending the next few weekends in Calgary. I'm excited to see some of my Calgary friends and to take London to the zoo (I've been promising him a return trip for months before our passes expire!)

How was your weekend?
Have you seen LA LA Land? Thoughts?
