OTF Grand Opening, Running Goals & Dating

If you follow me on instagram you've probably noticed a lot of my posts are about Orangetheory Fitness. That's been my only form of "working out" in the past couple weeks. To be honest, I love it!! With my heart/blood pressure issues, this year, being able to monitor my heart-rate throughout the workout gives me the peace of mind I'm looking for. I can already see the benefit and I'm starting to slowly fit into the clothes, I used to wear, before I unexpectedly gained 30 pounds. YAY! Earlier this week, I convinced a group of friends to join me and they all loved it! YAY for fitness with friends.


I do miss long-distance running though. OTF workouts are half cardio/half resistance so I'm only doing about 26-28 minutes of running 3-4 times a week. I'm running the Las Vegas half marathon, next weekend, and haven't done anything longer than 6 miles in months. It's definitely not something I recommend BUT since we're running with a group, and going to be taking it easy, I'm comfortable with it. My goal is to keep up with the short distances, during the week, and then start adding in one long run, every other week, when London is with his dad. 


I am officially in for the Chicago Marathon next fall. I'm not even thinking about training yet but I have an idea of what it'll look like. I would like to race a spring half and then focus on ramping up my distance in the summer. I'm hoping I can get to the starting line this time around. 
I also still need to complete my running certification. I am working on my case study now and then I have to do a 16-week practical. It's on the to-do list but I need to make time to just sit down and do it!!!

My friend Kris wrote a post about the pros and cons of online dating and it had me laughing out loud. As someone who spend a couple months on Tinder/Match/EHarmony I can tell you everything she said was true. I quit, a couple months ago, and haven't looked back. It is seriously a part-time job and I am excited to just focus on being a mama, my job, Orangetheory and my friends. I'm sure if I ever do get a boyfriend they'll just have to be okay with working out at OTF so they can see me ;)

Oh, before I stop talking about OTF (whoa, sorry lots this post) it's our GRAND OPENING this weekend. The party is Saturday and my boss has really gone ALL OUT! There's food, drinks, prizes, membership deals and more! Plus, lululemon is having a pop-up sale!!! Then, we will be hosting an after-party at Hudsons! I'll be there all day/night so come say hi!! 


Have you seen Pro Compression's Sock Of The Month? Every time I tell myself I need to take a break from online shopping they release something I LOVE!

I also need to wish everyone who's running the NYC Marathon, this Sunday, GOOD LUCK!! It's life changing and you'll have the BEST day! Have so much fun!! Even though I was sick, and struggled at times, I smiled the entire race!


I don't have any plans Sunday but, if it isn't too cold, I would love to take London back to Waterton for a little adventure. If not, I'll be watching the race online.
