Wow, what a fun weekend! I'm still recovering from a lack of sleep, and too much liquor, but I am smiling just thinking about it.
Friday afternoon, I headed to the airport to pick up Carrie and Sarah. Our plan was to surprise Melissa, later that night, as it's her last weekend before she moves to Ireland. The four of us grew up together and have remained close. We haven't all been together since December 2012.
We grabbed supper at Earls and then headed to surprise Melissa. I walked in to the house first while the girls waited in the car. One by one, spaced out about five minutes apart, they walked in the door. There were screams, and tears, as Melissa saw them. It was awesome!!
Melissa stayed behind with her family and the girls and I, met up with some friends, and headed out for a few hours.
Saturday morning, we slept in and met Melissa for brunch. Carrie had brought a few photo albums, from when we were younger, and we had a blast looking through them.
Her going away party was Saturday night. We headed over around 5 and spent the night reminiscing, crying and laughing. I have such an amazing group of friends here and I love when we can all get together, outside of Bachelor nights, and just visit. Plus, they were all so warm and welcoming to Sarah and Carrie!
We all drank way too much and I rode the struggle bus all day Sunday.
Luckily, I got a bit of energy seeing London. He just spent the last ten days with his dad and I missed him terribly. Parenting when you're hungover is tough though. I think I took three gravol yesterday. Hangovers always last so much longer as you get older.
Overall, it was an amazing weekend. Melissa leaves Wednesday so tonight is our last Bachelor night with her. I'm probably going to shed a few more tears.
Hi, I'm Kaella, a single mom, reporter and avid runner. I love sharing my workouts, race-recaps, and experiences in group fitness class, with you. I also talk about my four-year-old son London a lot. I'm slightly obsessed with NYC, Starbucks and 5 Cent Candies.
