Fitness Friday

I'm typing this up (Thursday) and then driving to Calgary to spend the night at my dad's place. I have to be at the Calgary airport bright and early for my flight to San Diego so I figured I may as well split the drive. I'm ridiculously excited for this weekend! Not only am I heading off to explore a new-to-me city but I'm also going to be meeting some amazing people, checking out a ball game, eating delicious food, spending time at the beach (my favourite) AND seeing Gavin Degraw perform!!!

My blogger (turned real-life) friend Ashley and I are flying together and then meeting up with Jen and her husband Tom when we get there (their flight from Calgary arrives a few minutes before ours.) I hope we can re-create this shot while we're there...minus the frost and add the beach ;)

Ashley loves San Diego like I love New York so I'm excited for her to show me around "her" city!

I'm also excited to be running TWO races this weekend. I plan to race the 5K (not in PR shape but I want a sub 26) and then enjoy the Half Marathon experience Sunday. I hear they have donuts and tequila shots along the course. Um, yes please!

I didn't really train for this weekend. I've kept my mileage around 15-22 miles per week since the Vancouver Marathon last month. I ran 10 miles a few weeks ago, for my long run, and feel confident I can tackle the distance. My back is feeling better than it was and I'm ready to have some fun!

Next weekend, I have the ladiesfest 8K and then I start training for Chicago the following weekend. Yep, life is about to get crazy even crazier!
