I woke up to an exciting email. I am honoured to be named one of the Top 30 Most Interesting Running Blogs You Need To Know by Health Listed. It's always exciting to be recognized but the best part is being celebrated alongside some of your friends. I haven't met everyone, on the list, but I can say they all inspire me so much!
So, let's re-wind to the start of my long weekend.
Friday night, I headed over to a friends' place to visit and talk about some exciting fitness plans. I ended up spending almost eight hours chatting away. Time flies when you're with good company.
Saturday morning, I managed to sleep in a little bit (considering I didn't get home until almost 3am.) I headed out for a six mile run and ended up doing seven since I was feeling so good.
Then, it was off to Starbucks for almost six hours to study. It was a long day but I managed to get a lot done. Thankfully, one of my friends stopped by for a much needed study break.
That night, I ended up volunteering to watch my friends' dogs. I took them out and then headed over to a party to celebrate a friends' recent accomplishments at a 24 hour race (crazy!)
Sunday morning, I was up early and headed to the University to run three miles at the track and a strength workout. I forgot how much I love to run at the track. I'm definitely getting a punch pass so I can do more speed work there!
Then, it was back to Starbucks for another few hours to study! I finished reading the course but have a LOT more work to do!
I spent the night texting with friends, doing laundry, and catching up on tv.
Monday morning, I headed out for a really quick run in the rain.
Then, I was able to finally pick up London. He had a great weekend with his dad and Grandma but I missed him. We ran some errands, played and practiced writing letters (he can only do about five minutes before he gets frustrated.)
Last night, I had the girls over for our weekly Bachelor/Bachelorette dates. I'm so happy this season is back as it's an excuse to get together with my girls. We bbq'd supper, had delicious snacks and drinks, and just chatted for hours.
Now, it's back to work. I have a busy week and then it's off to Calgary for the Calgary Marathon. Don't forget about the We Run Social meetup Saturday! You don't have to be running to stop by. It's a chance to connect with other runners and win some awesome giveaways!
Hi, I'm Kaella, a single mom, reporter and avid runner. I love sharing my workouts, race-recaps, and experiences in group fitness class, with you. I also talk about my four-year-old son London a lot. I'm slightly obsessed with NYC, Starbucks and 5 Cent Candies.
