Easter- 4 Day Weekend & London's 1st hockey injury

Anytime I have a mini-break from work I come back refreshed and recharged. Today, is no different! I'm actually writing this post in the car (someone else is driving) as I'm heading to Regina, Saskatchewan for a quick two day work trip to cover our local hockey team that's in the playoffs. Sorry in advance for the photo format issues.

My Easter long weekend started Thursday evening. I headed to Body Pump, with a friend, and then picked up London from his dad's.

After London went to bed I hid Easter treats for the morning hunt.

I've always loved holidays but they've become even more special since having London. I love seeing how excited he is by the littlest things. He ran around, hockey sticks in hands, collecting eggs and eating chocolates.

My dad and stepmom arrived a couple hours later and London and Jo baked cookies while my dad and I went down to the basement to talk about finishing it. We are hoping to do most of the work ourselves so we want to keep it relatively inexpensive.

That night, we headed to a hockey game (they won 7-3) with London's dad and Grandma and I crawled into bed, after sending my interviews, around 11:30.

Saturday I was up early, and out the door, for my long 10 mile run. It felt great to be in double digits again but the wind was brutal and I struggled a lot.

I ran some errands in the afternoon and then met my friend, June, for the hockey game. I had to work but that basically meant watching the game and doing interviews after. We finished around 10:30 and headed straight to a local pub where we met up with friends, had more than our fair share of drinks and danced to old school classics all night.

Let's just say Sunday was ROUGH. I had already committed to a brunch date so I sucked it up and went. After eating, I felt much better!!

I spent the rest of the day organizing my house, de-cluttering my two main-floor closets, and trying to fall asleep haha!

I hosted an Easter supper for some of my friends who don't have family nearby.

Monday, I spent the day with London. After an early morning run, we went to Chapters/Starbucks with friends, then home for a nap and board games, and then out to a new trampoline park. It was fun!!

We finished the day with mini sticks and London got his first bloody nose and hockey injury! Of course, he insisted on telling daddy and wanting a photo! He told me, he's a tough guy!! Ha Ha!

What was the highlight of your Easter weekend?
