It's obvious I love to run. Not only does it help me stay healthy but it also is my "me" time.
I also love races. I love the competitive spirit, challenging myself and smashing PR's (personal records.)
But, it's not just about beating the time on the clock. Sometimes, it's nice to just race for fun. Colour Me Rad is the perfect race to do just that. The race is not chip-timed and you get attacked with "colour bombs" as you run.

I've taken part in the Calgary 5K event the past three years. I've always gone with a big group of friends and we've ran as a group. We don't wear watches, we walk (a lot) and we enjoy getting to spend time together.
I've always been a bit disappointed with the course but this was especially the case last year (race recap HERE.) The course was TERRIBLE. At one point, we were just running around a gravel parking lot. There was also construction, on the day of the race, making parking a nightmare.
Parking Lot Laps...
BUT, I'm happy to say that the awesome crew at Colour Me Rad listened to all the feedback and things are going to be much different this year. First of all, the most exciting change, is the location!! YAY! While I love Canada Olympic Park, it's not set up well for an event like this. This year, things are moving to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology campus (side note: I went here for Broadcasting school.) Second of all, they've added another feature to their race package... Goo Guard phone cases! So, I don't have to worry about finding corn starch on my phone for a few weeks after the race, haha!
There are dozens events taking place in Canada and the United States but the Calgary one is being held Saturday, June 25th. Registration is now open and you can still take advantage of Early Bird Pricing.
London and I are definitely planning to be there this year and I would love for one of you to join us...for FREE.
I have one free entry to any Canadian Colour Me Rad race to giveaway. (Click here for a list of locations.)
Hi, I'm Kaella, a single mom, reporter and avid runner. I love sharing my workouts, race-recaps, and experiences in group fitness class, with you. I also talk about my four-year-old son London a lot. I'm slightly obsessed with NYC, Starbucks and 5 Cent Candies.
