Thinking Out Loud #46

I left you hanging for a few days. With my double posts, on Mondays, I usually take Tuesday off from writing and then write my Thinking Out Loud posts on Wednesday. 

I'm all about quality over quantity and don't want to write just to write (because that's kind of what I do for work too, haha!)

1. I'm a Rock N Blogger! I found out, earlier this week, I've been invited to join the Rock N Roll Marathon Series as an ambassador or Rock! I had a blast, last year, and am thrilled to be joining them again. There are 102 members but only five from Canada. Represent woot woot! I just wish I had unlimited race travel funds so I could RUN ALL THE RACES. ONE of the many perks is I can run ANY of the Run Rock N Roll Marathon series events FOR FREE. CRAZY, hey?! They have races outside of North America too!! I just need access to free plane tickets and hotel accommodations (or couches to crash on!) Right now, I'm committed to running San Diego, in June, and then Vegas in November. I'm hoping to add Seattle and Vancouver but there are so many other locations I DREAM about running (San Antonio, Nashville and BROOKLYN!!) I never started this blog thinking I would get to work with so many amazing organizations. I truly am very lucky!! 

Oh, and if you want to RUN ALL THE RACES with me... I'll have a discount code you can use to save some $$$ SOON!! 

2. My 30 day healthy living challenge is done! It wrapped up Tuesday and I'm really pleased with the results. I learned a lot about myself and am looking at food in a whole new light.  I took before and after photos and definitely see a difference in my body shape (my weight did not change.) I am considering doing the challenge for another month but will take a few days to decide. The best part about the challenge was finding new, healthy, recipes and cooking them with London. I used to think I hated smoothies but now that I found the right protein powder, and a variety of recipes, we make them together almost every day.

3. I've been reading a lot of books lately. I have always loved to read and London and I pick up new books every week. Last week, I picked up THIS BOOK after recommendations from a few friends. It's a self-help book (which I've never loved) but it doesn't come across as one. I've found myself re-reading certain parts every morning for inspiration and motivation. 
4. I need to do a self-timer fail posts or a "behind the scenes of my fitness photos" blog post/feature. As I was deleting photos from my phone I came across so many awesome photo fails!! The things we bloggers do to get that "perfect shot!"  For example, my friend June came over last night to practice her Barre class on me (she's starting teaching soon) and we wanted a shot together. Here's what it look like trying to get that photo (this was after moving the camera MULTIPLE times and about 20 minutes after we started....)

5.  I'm loving all my workouts lately. Coach has me running, walking hills, doing spin, trying Barre and lifting weights (hello Body Pump!) I feel stronger than I have in a long time and am proud of every single workout. I know this is not only helping my leg heal but also making me become a well-rounded athlete. 

6. I've always been an emotional person but since having London it's doubled tripled!! I love all the articles and songs about being a mom and this one about 17 things a boy needs from his mom had me in TEARS! I'm so lucky to have London in my life. I've wanted to be a mom since I was little and it feels like a dream that I was blessed with such a sweet, sensitive, kind, outgoing, funny little boy. He makes me proud every single day. 

7. I'm so thankful Facebook didn't exist during my high school/college years. Although, I wish I had easier access to all those photos! I was cleaning up my desk at work, the other day, and came across this awesome photo from my first days at my job (in 2005!) The equipment I am using is very old and apparently I had blonde hair.... ha ha! I love throwback photos!!
