Movie date, a Long Run & London's Sick- Weekend In Review

Friday, I left work a few minutes early I could make it to an early Yoga class. Grounding is one of my favourite ways to practice and I love the heat. My co-worker and I have been trying to start off, or end, or weekends with yoga and it's been really nice. Sadly, my 30 day trial membership ends Tuesday so I won't be able to afford to go as often as I would like.

After yoga, I headed to the mall to pick up a new journal for meal planner (scored one for five dollars on sale) and then met up with my friend Danielle for a movie date. D and I both love sappy, romantic movies so we saw the new Nicholas Sparks movie. It was cheesy and predictable but I loved the girl time (and popcorn!)

Saturday morning I was up early to run. I started my 8 miles at 7am and somehow managed to not blow away (despite wind gusts of 100 km/h!) I had NO PAIN the whole time and only some minor swelling and tenderness for a couple hours after. Guys, this is a big improvement although I still have a long way to go!

I spent the rest of my day meal planning, scheduling my workouts for the week and organizing London's activities with work and other appointments and commitments. I would be lost without planning.

I grabbed a Starbucks and read my book for an hour before I was off to get my hair done. I was desperate for a bang trim and colour so I treated myself!

I love how it turned out! No makeup selfie time!

Saturday night I organized a much needed girl's night! We ate, drank and laughed! It was good for the soul!

I'm trying to convince these ladies to run Vegas with me in November! Our group had a blast last year and I hope they'll come get crazy with us!! Anyone else planning to be there?

Sunday, I did laundry, met a friend for
coffee, grocery shopped and meal-prepped some more (made muffins, chilli-lime chicken, sweet potatoes and cooked veggies) Then, I built a weight set I had scored at Coatco a few weeks ago and moved around the gym equipment in the basement. Since I mostly workout at home it's important I have things that continue to challenge me. Time to build some muscles!!

I was supposed to take London to a birthday party but he was sick so his dad dropped him off after lunchtime and we spent the rest of the day relaxing. Poor kid has a 103+ fever and just isn't himself. He has been sick a lot this year and it's only February! I'm taking him to the doctor tomorrow and hoping he will consider tubes for his ears.

I'm excited for this week. I have lots of great workouts planned including a DONUT race Thursday. Yep, racing and eating donuts. This should be fun!!

How was your weekend?
Who's running Rock N Roll Vegas?
Parents: Did your child get tubes? Did it help?
What fun workouts do you have planned this week?

  1. My little guy got tubes 1.5 years ago and it was the best thing that ever happened for him (and us). I'm impressed with the windy run. I couldn't bring myself to face the gusts.
