Things I'm Loving Friday #29

I used to do this feature, weekly, but it kind of fell to the back burner. I'm bringing it back to share some things with you that I'm loving lately!
1. Pure Protein Bars
Protein bars are great when I need a quick snack after a workout or, when I'm out on assignment for work, and don't want to grab fast food. I keep a box at my desk, a couple in my car/purse, and my pantry is stocked. I love Quest protein bars but I was getting sick of them. These stack up nutritionally with Quest and, in my opinion, taste way better! The Dark Chocolate Coconut one is my favourite!


2. Penny's Salsa
This is also from Costco. I wanted some Fresh Salsa and a friend recommended this one. It's got a little bit of a kick but not too much. Plus, it's made from all fresh produce which makes it even better!
3. Yoga
Years ago, I tried Yoga on my WII fit (my first introduction) and thought it was okay. And then, a few months ago, I tried an outdoor yoga class in the city. It was great but the time once-a-week class never worked for my schedule. Well, this week, June introduced me to Hot Yoga and I LOVE it!! So far, I've done a Yin class (the stretching felt amazing) and a Grounding Yoga class (which was hotter and worked on the lower body. A great class for runners!) I bought a one-month pass and am hoping to make it there at least twice a week.
4. My Smart Shake
Since I'm packing all my food, for the day, in the morning and often going right to the gym or London's classes after work I love being able to carry pre-workout or protein powder on me and being able to mix it on the go. This has three compartments including one where you can store fruit and then squeeze it in. I love it! Sometimes I'll throw my gym key, or vitamins/pills, in the lower compartment so I don't have to worry about losing them.

5. My New Running Shoes
I was recently sent a new pair of Wave Rider 19's as part of my ambassador program with Mizuno Canada and they are my favourite ones yet! This is the 5th generation for me and these are the most supportive and flexible of them all. This may sound funny but I also love how smooth and comfortable the laces are. Plus, they're really light! These are the only shoes I'll race in. They also sent me this toque which I think is adorable.
6. My New Workout Bench.
As I mentioned in my Tips For Waking Up Early To Workout post, earlier this week, I do most of my workouts at home. A friend picked up this bench in the boxing day sales for me (since I was in BC on vacation) and it's been a great addition to my home gym. My dream is to have a big fitness room in my house someday filled with photos of my racing adventures, motivation quotes and bright colours! 



I've never read a book that's changed the way I think about so many things. Cameron Diaz hits the nail on the head with her information about nutrition and exercise. It's a must-read if you're looking to better understand your body and how you can be the best version of yourself.




I came across this tank, on an Instagram post, about a year ago and knew I had to buy it! I've been watch the Bachelor for years and have weekly viewing parties with my girlfriends. Bonus: it's really comfortable!!

  1. I'm loving a lot of things. Probably love my old navy leggings the most right now...fit GREAT and so much cheaper than lulu. Oh and I was at Costco tonight and forgot to look for those bars!
