After crossing the finish line of the NYC Marathon I immediately wanted to sign up for another. I forgot about the 16 weeks of hard work to get there; The sacrifices, how hard it was on my body, and what it takes to run 26.2 miles were erased. All I could think about was how amazing it felt to cross the finish line. To be a marathoner.
I was told by a lot of people to wait a month.
I spent the last few weeks researching races. I looked at costs, course and location. NYC was amazing but I missed having family and friends there to cheer me on. I missed being able to celebrate with my loved ones after.
So, it's been exactly a month and I'm ready to announce my next marathon.
The BMO Vancouver Marathon was recently named by Canadian Running Magazine as as perfect destination race vacation. It received the label "One of Canada's Gold Label Races" making it among the top-eight races in the country (and the only one to make the list from Vancouver.)
If that doesn't convince you to come run with me how about the fact you 1) get to run along the Seawall for the last 10KM 2) get to run at sea level? 3) It's VANCOUVER!!
The BMO Vancouver Marathon also offers a Marathon Relay (grab a team and complete the distance together) a Half Marathon, 8KM race, 2.5KM walk and a Kids Run. So, there really is something for everyone.
And, yes. London is absolutely already signed up for his next Kids Race!!! He's excited to add to his bib and medal collection ;)

I'm THRILLED to tell you I've been selected as a #RunVan Ambassador! It's my job to help promote the race and hopefully convince some of you to come run it with me. Or, come cheer/volunteer!! More details to come....
I am excited to start training again and hopefully get that sub-4 I dreamed about during my NYC Marathon training.
As I've mentioned, I've been having some minor quad issues since NYC. So, I'll be spending the next six weeks fixing that, working on cross-training and enjoying having no training plan!!
