A weekend with my mom and London

My mom has been here for a week and I've loved every second of it. I miss her terribly (we live about a 14 hour drive apart and have for the past 15 years.)

We are soaking up our time together as she leaves tomorrow.

Friday, we picked up London from daycare and headed to a movie. He loves dinosaurs and The Good Dinosaur was playing. We all loved it and may have she's a few tears (I have a sensitive little boy on my hands!)

We then headed to the arcade to play some games, picked up a few last minute gifts, and then headed home.

My mom surprised London with a Good Dinosair ornament for the free so he hung that up as soon as we got home!

Saturday morning we were up really early so we could drive to Calgary. We were meeting my step-sister and her two kids at the zoo. Despite being a little cool everyone loves it and we pretty much had the place to ourselves!

It took like London has a selfie struck in that photo ha ha! It's actually a smarties train.

Our favourite stop is the Penguins! We had to see them twice!

London's already asked when we can go back!

I had a gift card to a small mall I had to spend so I ended up picking London up a Paw Patrol table for him. I also grabbed a new rug, some Christmas lights and a frame for my NYC Marathon map that I'm still waiting to arrive.

After driving home, we had a couple
Hours to relax before it was time to head to the rink for the club's annual Teddy Bear toss. When the home year scores everyone in attendance throws a bear, or toque, on the ice.

They're then donated to charity! London had a tough time understanding why we were giving away his toys (I picked ones he never plays with) but I'm hoping we can continue to do stuff like this, over the years, so he understands the true meaning of Christmas.

While London went to bed, mom and I stayed up late chatting over a couple glasses on wine.

Sunday morning was another early one as we met Melis and June for brunch. It was great to just relax and spend time catching up. Plus, the food was amazing

These ladies are the best!

Mom, Londom and I also took in the recycling and cleaned up the house a bit (did I mention how much in going to miss her?!)

We had supper st Jarod's, said goodbye to London, grabbed groceries and then stayed up late drinking wine and chatting. It was a wonderful weekend!

I'm only working a half day today so I can soak up our time together before she leaves in the morning! :(

I hope you had a great weekend!
