So, I ran a marathon. Now what?

It's been almost a month since I ran the NYC Marathon. I've enjoyed the lack of training plan but done my best to keep up with my healthy and active lifestyle. I ran a 5K and Half Marathon in Vegas but I also enjoyed a lot of beverages and yummy food.

I'm also still battling a sore, tight, quad muscle in my left leg. Sometimes it's fine and then I'll run a few miles and it'll come back. I've been doing a lot of stretches and have another massage this week.

While, my training plan went awesome (minus the last week where I was sick for race day) I didn't keep up with my strength/cross-training for the last 5 weeks. So, my plan is to focus on that until the end of the year. What can I say, I like to have goals.

1. Weekly Body Pump class at GoodLife Fitness. (if you want to come join me, or try a class where you are, the club is having an open house until November 30th. Basically, you can try the club, and classes, for free!)

2. Weekly Spin class. I have such a love/hate relationship with Spin. I love challenging myself and the way I feel after but I'm usually cursing myself for signing up while I'm sweating my face off. I know it makes me a stronger, faster, runner though so I'm committed!

3. Try three new fitness classes. This is something I want to keep doing throughout the year. Last week, I took my first ever Tabata class. It was 50 minutes and I think I smiled the entire time. Yes, it kicked my butt, it felt great to step outside of my comfort zone. Tabata is 20 seconds of activity followed by 10 seconds of rest. I also have my eye on crossfit, hot yoga. We'll see what else pops up. Any other suggestions?

As for my next "goal" race. I'm currently trying to find something that works for me, and London, and our crazy schedules. I'll be sure to share our plans soon!! So far, I'm already committed to the Calgary Half Marathon in May, SeaWheeze in August and the Rock N Roll Las Vegas Half Marathon (and 5K) next November.

Do you have any fitness goals right now?
What's the last group fitness class you took?
Have you signed up for any 2016 races? Which ones?
