NYC Marathon- A Short Race Recap

I'm still in New York soaking up my trip and learning how to walk properly again ;)

Yesterday, I ran my first marathon- the NYC Marathon. I'll be back with a full recap after I get home at the end of the week. For now, here's the short version.

I started out slow (like my coaches wanted me to) in the hopes of saving my legs for the last 6 miles. I was feeling AMAZING through 21 miles and then I HIT THE WALL. I hit it hard!

Despite that, I had an incredible time!! Despite a tough last hour I couldn't stop smiling! The spectators along the course we're amazing and I was lucky enough to have friends supporting me in person and online (still overwhelmed about this!!)

I finished in 4:27:05

Short of my time goal but with the tough (hilly course) and bad head cold I'll take it. I'm a freakin' marathoner and I'm damn proud of myself!!

I also got to run for the Team For Kids charity which was the best!!! I'll be touching more on this in my full recap!

So, will I run one again? Without a doubt!! I just need to enjoy some much-deserved time off first.

A HUGE thank you to each and every one of you for your love, support and encouragement. I'm forever grateful.
