Training For The NYC Marathon- Week 13

This week, I kicked off my 13th week of marathon training. I would be lying if I didn't acknowledge that I'm feeling a little burned out lately. There's been some things going on at work that have contributed to it but I think it's just a combination of everything. Don't get me wrong, I'm VERY excited (and nervous) for NYC but also looking forward to a three-week taper beforehand.

Also, confession time, I have totally fallen off the cross-training/strength-training wagon. I haven't been to a spin class in over a month and Body Pump in about the same. I'm not trying to make excuse but it's hard to find the time between running, long days at the office and spending time with London. That's my only regret so far this cycle is not keeping up with that as much as I would have liked!

I have been keeping up with my regular Chiropractor, Physiotherapy and Sports Massage appointments though. You win some, you lose some, right?

Since I missed last week's training recap, because of all my Waterton posts, here's a look at my last two weeks.

Week 11:

Monday- 5 miles

Tuesday- Off

Wednesday- 18 mile LR

Thursday- Off
Friday- 3 Miles

Sunday- 4 miles

Week 12:

Monday- Off
Tuesday- Off

Wednesday- 5 Miles

Saturday- 13 Miles

Sunday- 6 Miles

This week, I face my longest run of this training cycle- 20 miles!! I'll be tackling it Saturday morning. My plan is to execute my race day plan. Eat three hours before, take in about 500 ml of water up to an hour before and fuel every 40-45 minutes. I'm not sure of my route quite yet but I'm hoping to find something that allows me to be near a bathroom (if necessary) and gas station (so I can grab a Gatorade around the 12-14 mile mark.)
