Two months today I'll be running my first marathon! WOW. I'm excited and nervous. Those feelings haven't changed.
It's time to get real. I didn't hit my mileage the last two weeks. I skipped two runs, after SeaWheeze, and then I dropped down from a half marathon to a 5K this past Saturday because of smoky air quality. That being said, I am still running and cross-training and somehow finding balance to focus on London and work full-time. Not every training week has to be perfect!
Yesterday, I kicked off Week 8 of training. As I've mentioned numerous times, I'm using the NYRR custom training plan. Not only is it catered to the NYC Marathon but it's also customized to my needs and fitness level. I'm definitely seeing the benefits of training properly and putting in the work. Since the program started, I've PR'd my half marathon, 10K and 5K distances. BOOM!

Tuesday, August 25th:
Monthly preventative physio appointment.
5 Miles AYF (As You Feel)
Wednesday, August 26th
8 Miles RR (Regular Run)
Saturday, August 29th
5K Race (Recap coming tomorrow!)
Sunday, August 30th
7 Miles (RR) Regular Run.
Total Mileage: 23.1
Planned Mileage: 32
Total Monthly Mileage: 111 Miles
Week 8 is a recovery week so my mileage drops a little. That's important considering it's been a little low the last two weeks. I try not to jump up too quickly to avoid getting injured.
Here's what I have planned for the week:
Monday- 6 Miles (Regular Run) & Body Pump
Wednesday- 8 Miles (Intervals) Thursday- OFF
Saturday- 12 Miles (Long Run)
