A Weekend Of Firsts- Weekend In Review

I've really wanted to step outside my fitness comfort zone this weekend and, with London at his dad's, I had the chance to do that.

Friday, I got off work and headed to see Magic Mike XXL. I had the theatre to myself for a few minutes, during the previews, so it was pretty much like I was on a date with Channing Tatum. Needless to say, I loved the movie especially the Backstreet Boys shoutout.

Afterwards, I headed to a friends' house for a fire. I love S'mores.

Saturday morning I headed to a local gym for my first spin class! Kinetic is a relatively new (a year old) fitness centre. It is a beautiful facility and the instructor was super sweet! I showed up early and learned how to adjust my bike and clip in.  It was a great workout and I'm excited to push myself a little harder next time.

After class, I headed out for a long run. I did an 8 mile loop. It was pretty hot out so I ran through a lot of sprinklers. Thank you everyone for watering your lawn at 11am.

I had a big lunch and then took my friend's niece to see Cinderella. She was so cute and couldn't stop talking about the prince.

I got home and quickly changed for Tawnya's gender reveal party. I guessed boy and she had a few dreams about having a girl.

She wanted to share her news with a few close friends before she flies home to tell her family, in PEI, today. Head on over to her blog, on Monday afternoon, to see the happy news...

Sunday, I slept in until 8 and watered my flowers and did some cleaning up. At 10, I headed to my first Yoga class. It was a pop up class held in a downtown park. It has rained the night before so only a few of us showed up. The instructor was wonderful and I left feeling extremely relaxed and well-stretched.

My favorite quote, from the class was, "Thoughts are like clouds. They're always going to be there but that doesn't mean you have to stare at them."

After class, I headed to Walmart to pick up a few things and then came home to hang some photos in London's room and paint his dressers. They're going from purple to a dark grey to match his hockey-themed bedroom.

I only got a bit done before it was time to head back out for a coffee meeting with the Western Canada VP for Mizuno. We chatted for about an hour and a half about everything. I love how passionate he is about his job and the company. I've been a faithful Mizuno girl since I first started running in 2011. The Wave Riders are my jam.

He even gave me a sneak peek at the 2016 releases. I'm in love with the colours and want them all.

After my meeting, I had to stop by Jarod's to drop something off. I surprised my little munchkin who did a double-take when he saw me (super cute!)

Then, it was off to a friend's to play with her dog for a bit. She lent me her Les Mills body pump DVD's so I did one of the workouts before bed. My arms are going to be sore tomorrow! I need to work on my form (thank you video for showing me that) but I'm a work in progress :)

I feel like my weekend was packed but aren't they always?!

Time for another week with a lot of fun things on the go! I hope you had a great weekend too!
