Training Tuesday- My Half Marathon Playlist

I'm 11 days out from my goal race and nowhere near as prepared as I expected to be but still feeling confident and excited. I'm not putting any pressure on myself because I am not a professional athlete. I don't get paid to race or to blog about it. I do it because I love it! I'm not just excited about the race itself but also about all the events surrounding it.
As I mentioned before, I'm a forerunner for the Calgary Marathon which is basically an ambassador for the race. I've recruited a lot of friends to run with me, this year, and I'm excited to join them for some of the pre and post race activities. Unfortunately, the details are still under wraps right now but I promise to post about them soon. I will tell you there will definitely be a tweet-up at the expo and a shakeout run the morning before. Plus, they are having food trucks on race-day so you better believe we will be eating all-the-food after we run! For now, keep using the #runyyc hashtag during your training runs so we can connect online!
If you're planning to come to the expo I'll be speaking, with a few of the other fore-runners, at 1pm Friday. I'm terrified of public speaking (I know, this doesn't make sense with my job) but I was invited to share a bit about my running story and why I chose the Calgary Marathon.
Since I only managed two workouts this week I wanted to focus on something a little different for this week's post: My Half Marathon Playlist.
I've raced with and without music. I find most of the time I prefer to leave my ear-buds out until I need a pick me up (during a half marathon that's usually around the 6-8 mile mark.) If I do wear headphones I always keep the volume down low and make sure I'm aware of my surroundings.
Still, I always like to have a playlist ready. I listen to mostly Top 40 music (with a little hip hop/rap thrown in the mix) while I run.
Here's my playlist for the Calgary Half Marathon on May 31st.
