Thinking Out Loud #16-- Work Edition

Time to link up with Amanda for "Thinking Out Loud." If you don't know how it works check out her first post. Basically, it's a chance for you to get all your random thoughts out and then link up with others doing the same.

The last couple weeks have been crazy at work. I know I don't talk a lot about my job but I'm a news reporter for a local television station. I've been doing this for 12 years and in Lethbridge for the last ten. I've had a few job offers to move to a bigger city but choose to live here. What's great about working in a smaller market is the work-life balance and the opportunity to cover a little bit of everything.
For example, in the last ten days, I've covered a triple murder, historical provincial election and McHappy Day.
Since my random thoughts are mostly work-related I thought I would share some photos, from the field, from the past few days.

I love that I get to meet new people every day. I love that I don't know what I'm doing when I walk into work every morning. I love that my work never carries over to the next day; every day, is a blank slate. I love that I get to help people. I can honestly say I love coming to work every day.

What do you love about your job?
How long have you been in your current position?
What's your dream job?

  1. Oh wow this was awesome! TV reporting sounds like such an interesting job - getting to meet new people every day and bring in the middle of the action!

  2. What an awesome job!!! Sounds like a lot of fun but sometimes I like the predictability of my job! Things are different each day but I have my routines.

My dream job would probably be travelling to exotic places and reviewing spas! Or something beauty and fashion related. Or running related... I have a few dream jobs!
