Mother's Day Gift Guide

My mom is one of my best friend's. She's there for me, no matter what, and we probably talk a few times a day. Even though she doesn't live in the same city (or province) as me I consider us to be extremely close. I'm so thankful for our relationship.

My mom was born May 11th. Her birthday is always close to, or on, Mother's Day. Although, she's not big on gifts I do love surprising her with something for her TWO special days.

Now, that I'm a mom, I also now how nice it is to be made special. Whether you're a stay-at-home mom, a full-time working mom, or a mix of the two, we all work hard to somehow balance everything.

I put together this gift guide to honour the mother's and mom-to-be's in our lives!

1. Lululemon Crops
If you're anything like me, you practically live in yoga pants/workout gear when you're at home. They're comfortable, cute, and if you're already wearing them when your child goes down for a nap/to bed you're more likely to work out, right? ;)

Run For Days Crop- $98

2. For Two Fitness Tanks
Speaking of cute workout gear, I'm a huge fan of For Two Fitness apparel. They're surprisingly affordable for "maternity clothes" and come in a lot of different colours and styles. I think it's a cute way to announce a pregnancy or showcase your bump while working out. If I am ever lucky enough to get pregnant again, I will definitely be picking up the "Running For Two" shirt!

3. Spa Day
Okay, this is definitely one of my favourite gifts to give, and receive. As a mom, it can be hard to make time (and not feel guilty) to just pamper ourselves. For an extra touch, instead of just buying a gift card or package actually make the mom in your life an appointment.

4. New Purse, New Shoes, New Dress... you get the idea
Although, I get to "dress up" every day for work it's nice to be able to throw on a new pair of heels or take a purse, without diapers and snacks in it, out on the town with your girlfriends.

Source: Spring Shoes $34.99

5. Flowers
I know they aren't for everyone but I love getting flowers! If you don't like wasting your money on something that dies fast you can consider purchasing some flowers, or a plant, for their garden. My mom also loves flowers. A few years ago, when I was pregnant with London, I sent her blue flowers on her birthday to let her know we were having a BOY!

Other ideas:

Cook them breakfast or take them out for a meal
Plan an activity as a family
Book a photo shoot to capture new memories
Write them a letter to thank them for all their hard work
Jewelry (necklace or bracelet incorporating children's names/birthstones)

Do you typically purchase gifts for Mother's Day?
For the mom's out there, what's the best gift you've ever received?

Disclosure: Thanks to For Two Fitness for sponsoring this post.
