Training Tuesday-- 112 Days of Running

I decided to stop my run streak today. This is the second time I've done a run streak. Last time, I made it 397 days.

This time, when I signed up for my local run club's December streak challenge, I only planned to make it the month. I loved it so much I kept going. I made it 112 days and logged 276 miles. 

I've ran through sickness (including 8 weeks with a horrible cough) and good health, I ran in new gear and in my pjs and jeans, at 4am and at 10pm. I've ran inside on the treadmill and outside in minus 35 degrees and in plus 20. 

I love run streaking but it was time to stop. I have a lot of races coming up and some pretty lofty goals. My plan is to still run 3-5 days a week and incorporate lots of strength training. I'll be planning my workouts around my custody schedule with London. As always, he comes first.

So, what's my focus now? Of course, the CALGARY Half Marathon is the big one. I plan to PR the half. The means a lot of speed work and increasing my miles. My last long run was almost a month ago at the PHOENIX half. I'll be testing my speed at a 5K in a few weeks. 

So, for now the chapter on my latest run streak is done. You better believe I'll be tackling another one some day. It just won't be anytime soon.
