Phoenix Highlights & A Virtual 5 Mile Race

Heads up: I'll be posting twice today. I have a giveaway going up later this afternoon.

I was so lucky that London and I were able to meet up with my mom down in Phoenix. She flew in, from Vancouver, and took care of London while I ran on Saturday. She is a HUGE supporter of my running and it meant so much to have her there to cheer me on!

In case you missed them, you can find my Phoenix race recap HERE and my pre-race activities recap HERE.

On Sunday morning, I left mom and London sleeping and met up with BrianCarleeRyan and Shane for a virtual 5 mile race- the Represent Running San Jose 408K.  Shane, being local, took us to a beautiful loop around a man-made lake near the University of Arizona. We all took it easy and got to enjoy great conversation and a beautiful sunrise. I love that these people didn't think twice about running 5 miles the day after a race (Brian, Carlee and Shane all ran the full marathon!) I love running people!

Isn't Carlee adorable? Such a sweetheart!

I knew I would like this guy!! I love his passion for running and how warm and welcoming he is!

Hi Carlee, Ryan and Brian!

The next FOUR photos are from Carlee. Check out her Race Recap HERE!

Thank you to Brian for suggesting we do the race and for bringing the sweet swag! Yes, this medal doubles as a bottle opener. I can't wait to run with you all again soon!

This trip wasn't ALL about running though. I wanted to spend a lot of quality time with my mom and London. The weather didn't cooperate but we managed to switch around our plans and still have a blast.

We went to the Phoenix Zoo:

Went shopping:

Swam in the heated pool:

Went to an arcade:

Toured around Old Town Scottsdale:

And ate a LOT of great food!

I loved spending time with my family, and my new running buddies, and I can't wait for our next adventure! London is becoming a seasoned traveler!

Do you have any trips coming up? I'm heading to Seattle/Vancouver in June! I need to plan another trip somewhere warm though!
Have you been to Phoenix? What's your favourite thing to do there? I want to go back and do some hiking!
