Despite my marriage ending, I still believe in Happily Ever After. (And, I still love romantic comedies!)
With the holiday dedicated to love just around the corner, I thought I would put together a Valentine's Day gift guide for the runner in your life. Although I'm not a huge fan of the "holiday" I do admit it's nice to be made to feel special.
Runners are crazy (or so I've been told) so a themed gift can show them you support their running and you're proud of what they put into it.
1. (Sports) Massage
A massage is a great Valentine's Day gift. but I'm not talking about a relaxing one from you though. Book an appointment with a sports therapist to work out those sore muscles.
Have you seen (most) runners feet? They likely need a little attention after all the miles they've been running lately. Bonus points if you go together so you can unwind as a couple.
3. Carb Loading Supper
What runner doesn't like to carb load before a race (or a long run?) Head to an Italian restaurant for some yummy pasta and garlic bread! Or, better yet, throw on an apron and cook for them. Just don't be offended if they don't want a drink. Alcohol before a race is never a good idea.
4. Race Entry & Cheerleader Status
Getting your Valentine a race entry is a great idea but you can also go one step further and be there to cheer them on on race day! There's something really special about having someone you love waiting for you at the finish line. It's great motivation to run fast and finish strong!
Valentine's Day and jewellery go hand in hand. Did they recently complete a milestone (like their first race) or are they training for something memorable (like their first half marathon?) Jewellery is something they can keep forever to remember their journey. There are lots of running themed bracelets, necklaces etc on the market.
Alright love birds. I hope you found this list helpful! Did I miss anything?
Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?
What are your plans this year?
What's the best gift you ever gave or received?
