We had been telling London we were going to be giving his soothers to a baby for weeks. So, Thursday night, we Skyped with his brand new baby cousin and told him we would be sending them her way the next day.
He soaked up his last night with a suckie and I did too. To be honest, sometimes these milestones are tougher on me. My little boy isn't a baby anymore!
Friday morning we put all of them in an envelope and walked (he ran) to the mailbox. He was a little hesitant but didn't get upset.
Surprisingly, he has done GREAT this weekend! He only asked for it a few times but then quickly remembers "I sent them to baby Brooklyn!" I find him even more (it that's even possibly) chatty and funny without it! I'm glad we made the transition! Potty training is next!
Friday night, we headed to watch our local men's University hockey team play.
Of course, that's all London wanted to do when we woke up Saturday. I had an 11 mile run planned but this cold was kicking my butt. I skipped Marathon club kick-off. We bundled up and headed outside for a bit (no sick days for moms!)
When London went down for a nap I snuck out for a run. The weather was absolutely gorgeous this weekend (17 degrees in January?!) so I knew I needed to take advantage of the fresh air!
His dad had a party, to go to, Saturday night so London and I just relaxed before he passed out, on me, about 30 seconds after we crawled into his bed.
Sunday, we all slept in until 8. It was wonderful! We had a big breakfast before heading out to get groceries. Once again, I took advantage of nap time and the nice weather and did a quick run outside.
The rest of the day was spent doing laundry, relaxing, planning our week, playing hockey outside, washing our cars and watching Boyhood. If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend it! It was filmed over 12 years!
I hope you had a great weekend!
