5 Ways Running Has Changed Me

It was recently pointed out that running has changed me. I couldn't agree more.

1. Running has made me selfish.

It's true. I put my own wants and needs ahead of others. It's like Hungry Runner Girl wrote in THIS ARTICLE. Sometimes you have to take care of your own needs before you can take care of the needs of others. "It's okay to be selfish. It helps me be a better mom, friend, daughter and sister."

2. Running has made me conceited.

Yep! I like to brag about my accomplishments because I am damn proud of what I have worked hard for. I also hope my accolades will inspire others.

3. Running has changed the way I eat.

Don't get me wrong I still love chips and pizza and candy (I will never give these things up) but I've also learned they're not the best running fuel! I now know it's important to make sure you're eating the right things to get the best performance (and recovery) possible!

I will never turn down yummy food on Bachelor night!!

4. Running has made me too competitive.

I compete with myself all the time. I'm constantly striving to push myself. I want to get a new PR and I'm really to work hard to get it!

5. Running has made me want to be one of the cool kids.

There's a HUGE online running community. I love being a part of it. I love that there's others, out there, who are just as passionate about running as I am. These cool kids put up with my constant chatter about tempo runs, fueling and pr dreams. We chat about racing and plan our schedules around runs, meetups and tweet ups.

How has running changed you?
