2015 Goals

I can honestly say I have no idea what 2015 has in store for me. As I looked back on my 2014 goals, in yesterday's post, I realized just how quickly things can change. 2014 was supposed to be the year I got pregnant. The year I had more sex. The year my marriage got better. Instead, I'm starting 2015 as a soon-to-be divorced single mom.

2015 is my year. It's the year I focus on what it best for me and London. It's about planning fun adventures, running in new places, setting big goals and doing what makes us happy.

My goals for 2015:
1. Set a new half marathon PR
I am running, at least, six half marathons this year so I just need to decide which one I want to really race. I am thinking it'll likely be Phoenix, next month, so I am going to really train for it. I'll post more details about my training plan next week!

2. Run a marathon
I'm applying for the NYC Marathon lottery this year and am crossing my fingers I get in! If not, I will find a way to get to that starting line!! My mom sent me this, the other day, and I love it!

3. Step out of my fitness comfort zone
It's obvious I love running but I want to be a stronger, faster runner in 2015. This means, I have to step up my strength/cross training. I LOVED Body Pump and would love to try Pure Barre and Spin too.
4. Take London on a monthly date
I want to plan a fun outing, at least, once a month for just London and I. So far, I'm thinking the Zoo, Telus Spark Centre, Waterton, and Colour Me Mine. The dates could also be a trip to the park or a picnic at the lake. I just want to make sure we are carving out extra mommy and son time together. also have a few trips planned for us including Phoenix, Seattle and Vancouver. I can't wait to take him back to the beach!
5. Continue family outings
Until our house sells, Jarod and I still live together. That means, we spend a lot of time together and as a family. I hope that even after our house sells we can continue that. I think it's great for London to see his parents hanging out (and getting along) and sharing in every day moments. London is so happy when the three of us are spending time together. I don't want that to change.

6. Be a good friend
I have received so much love and support from my friends recently that I want to make sure I'm doing the same for them. I want my circle to know that I love and appreciate them. Balancing work and mom life is tough sometimes but it's important to make time for those that are important to you.

7. Learn how to use the bbq
This may seem like a silly one but the bbq intimidates me. For the past 8+ years Jarod has handled grilling duties. I want to be comfortable turning it on and cooking myself a chicken breast or veggie burger.

8. Limit my spending
This is something I'm constantly working on. I want to limit my shopping, for things I don't need, and save for things that are important. It's time to unsubscribe from some email lists again.

9. Travel to a new city
I have a lot of travel plans for 2015. I'll be running races in Phoenix, Seattle, Vancouver and New York. I want to go somewhere NEW this year. I am thinking San Francisco, Boston or Chicago would be nice.

10. Be happy
Find the good in every situation. Stay positive and strong. Be happy alone and with others. Trust my gut and follow my heart. Just. Be. Happy.

Do you set goals for yourself?
What's ONE thing you would like to accomplish in 2015?
