My first Body Pump experience- Weekend In Review

London left, with his dad, last week, and I miss him more than I can ever put into words. I didn't spend more than an hour without him the first year of his life. In the last two years we've only been apart eight nights. I can't wait until we are reunited!

Thankfully, I had lots of great distractions to help me get through the first few days without him.

Friday, I woke up really early to drive back from Calgary. I was rewarded with a beautiful sunrise!

I went for my run, unpacked and did a lot of online Boxing Day shopping before having a somewhat early night.

Saturday, I met Jo from Living Mint Green for a Body Pump class. We have been talking online, for awhile now, but never actually really met before. I jumped at the chance to join her! She is such a sweetheart and had some great personal advice for me! She's currently living her dreams in the mountains. I think I may have told her "I want your life" at least once or twice!

The class was an hour long but time flew by! The instructor was fun, encouraging and helpful! I learned that I have strong legs (thank you running) and really weak arms. My upper body was shaking!

36 hours later and I'm still a little sore! I definitely will be going back! I know more strength/cross training will make me a stronger, faster, runner!

I spent the rest of Saturday relaxing, catching up on the PVR, and watching the World Juniors..Go Canada!

This morning, I woke up to a FaceTime from London. He's having such a great time with his dad but I am still really sad. I just try not to think about it or I start crying. Parents, how do you get through the days/nights without your children?

I kicked off my Phoenix half marathon training with a 5 mile run then cooled down by shovelling the driveway and surrounding sidewalks.

After a trip to the grocery store, I relaxed around the house and chatted with a friend. I had a bit of a scare when a realtor showed up, without an appointment, and just walked in to our house when I was sitting on the couch! That could have been way more awkward if I was sleeping or in the shower!!!

I skyped with London again before putting on a movie and writing this post. I can't believe my vacation is over and I'm back to work tomorrow!

Hope you had a great weekend!

What are your NYE plans?
Are you watching the World Juniors?
