Finley's Bucket List & A Weekend In Review

It's hard to believe how fast some weekends go! How is it Sunday night, already?

I want to start my recap by quickly touching on a story I did Friday at work. I met a young mom and her two daughters. One of them, 13-month-old Finley has a terminal illness. Her parents created a bucket list to do, together, before she dies. This week, she checked off a big one, she got her photo with Santa!

Their story is both heart-breaking and heartwarming. If you would like to check out their bucket list here is their blog, Finley's Bucket List.

Also, here's a LINK to my story if you'd like to watch:

Finley has Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Eventually, she'll be unable to move, swallow or breathe on her own. Her story is a great reminder to never take a single moment for granted and to cherish what you have.

Local ladies, SPLURGE & CO is selling baseball-style t-shirts with all proceeds going towards SMA research. I got mine!

Friday night, I headed out for some drinks and pub food with a couple girl friends. I failed to take any photos but we had so much fun! We even got asked for id after ordering our drinks! That hasn't happened in years! I really don't think I look 17 hahaha! I ended up staying out until after midnight! (Late for me!)

Saturday, it was finally enough to play hockey and go sledding outside. London was in his element!

We baked cookies when he woke up from his nap and I somehow have some leftover to bring into work tomorrow! I find it helpful to measure everything and then have him just dump the bowls in and mix! It's a lot easier (and less messy) that way!

Saturday night, my friend June joined London and I at a local hockey game. We ended up leaving after the second period because we were already out way past his bedtime! We had so much fun pigging out on rink food, people watching and chatting :)

Today, I headed to one of my best friend's house for an open house for her new business!

As I've mentioned before, Melissa recently starting marking these beautiful infinity scarves! I went to buy (more) Christmas presents and ended up leaving with a new one for myself!

If you are in the market for a new scarf for yourself, or someone else, be sure to check out my blog on Tuesday ;)

This afternoon, we took London to see Santa! He did so well! He walked up and said "Hi Santa" and then said he wanted a "Big Hockey Stick" for Christmas! Please notice him holding his hand!! Awww!!

We hung around at the mall for a bit and treated ourselves to Booster Juice!

Then, we ended the day out with some skating! London is doing so well on the ice and even skated by himself for a few seconds!!

I am still streaking and completed day 7 with a 5K tonight. I am still loving it and glad I made the month-long commitement! I logged 15 miles this week (I needed a low week after last Saturday's 16 miler haha!)

I hope you had a great weekend too!

  3. I watched your story the other day and it was fabulous! So sad though :( Don't worry, Brian and I got id'd last weekend. I am clearly pregnant and not drinking and Brian looks over 25 (they ID if you look under 25). We just laughed about it :) Sounds like you had a great weekend!
