Things I'm Loving Lately 25

I'm very excited to share this post with you this week. I have a lot of things I'm loving lately!

1. Lucky Feather Designs (Infinity Scarves)

One of my best friends, Melissa (we've known each other for 25+ years) recently started her own business! She makes the most beautiful infinity scarves and has dozens of patterns to choose from. I'm so proud of her for taking a chance on something she's passionate about. She doesn't have a website set up yet but you can order through her Facebook page. I've already purchased one for all the ladies in my life for Christmas gifts :)

These are just a few of my favourites!

2. NYC Marathon Recap Posts

Since deciding to enter the lottery for the 2015 NYC Marathon I've been obsessed with all things NYC Marathon related. I watched about six hours of live coverage Sunday (while tracking a few of my running friends) and then proceeded to read every recap I could get my hands on.

Here are a few of my favourite recaps so far:

Ali
Jen
Michele

I'm eagerly awaiting recaps from my friends Kim and Jen but I already know I'm going to love theirs and probably bookmark them to read again, next year, leading up to the race. I'm obsessed.

3.  Random Weekdays Off

I'm actually writing this post on Thursday because I booked tomorrow (Friday) off work. I plan on going for a run, spending the day in bed and maybe going to a movie in the afternoon. I can't wait!

4. Run Club

I'm so happy I decided to join Run Club! It's hosted by one of our local running stores, on Wednesday nights, between October and April. I was a little hesitant to show up for my first one as I didn't know anyone; but, everyone was so welcoming! Plus, it's kind of nice to be able to talk about running, for an entire evening, with a group of people who love it as much as you do!

Last night, we did a 5K route and then had pizza and chatted. Talking with other runners is so inspiring! I can't wait until our next meet-up. It's 5K and then wine-tasting :)

5. London's New Toothbrush

Lately London hasn't been so excited to brush his teeth. Oral health is extremely important to me so it usually ended up with him screaming/crying while I worked as quickly as I could to get the job done. Tawnya suggested we try an electric toothbrush since it had worked wonders with her little girl Scarlett. Sure enough, as soon as London saw the Thomas the Train toothbrush, and realized it vibrated, he was hooked. Now, he wants to brush his teeth ALLLLLL the time!

I hope you have a great weekend! I'm off to Calgary to cheer on one of my co-workers at her fitness competition!

What are you loving lately?
Who's running this weekend? A race, training run or just for fun?
Any weekend plans?

  1. My recap went up today! I'm so excited you are planning to run next year. Makes me want to sign up again:)
If you don't get in through the marathon you can ask me about the travel partner option and how I went about it. I think I found the cheapest way possible.

  2. Congrats to your friend! So cool taking the plunge to do something like that.

Your run club sounds really fun!

Liam just sucks the toothpaste off his toothbrush (it's the kind you don't have to spit out). I wonder if something like that would help him actually brush them.

  3. My son really likes his electric toothbrush too!

No running for me this weekend, as I'm still recovering from NYC! I think I will run by Monday though. Other than that - nothing on the agenda because of last weekend's travels.

  8. Those scarves look gorgeous! Also - what app is it you used to track that 5k run? I see it tracks how many miles are on your shoes, that would be SO helpful! I've only ever used MapMyRun and it doesn't do that (I don't think...)
