My November Goals (and October review)

October was a bit of a roller coaster month for me; but, it was a very busy and productive month. Jarod and I put our house up for sale, finalized most of the details of our separation, sold almost all our baby stuff and I legally changed my name back to my maiden name. It feels good to be a Carr again :)

I didn't accomplish all my October goals but I'm happy with what I did manage to check off:

Review of My October Goals:

1. Attend all the Run club events. I missed the October 1st event because it was London's birthday but went to the rest.

2. 50 miles of running. Despite a low goal (for me) I didn't hit it. I only logged 35.

3. A 25-26 minute 5K time at the Bare Bones race October 19th.  DONE! Hit 25:17 and placed 2nd female over and 2nd in my age group.

4. Run with friends.  Done! Made some new friends, through run club, and enjoyed running with them. :)

5. Plan fun activities for London. Done! We carved pumpkins, picked out Halloween costumes and did lots of baking/cooking.

My November Goals:

1. PR the Clause Cause 10K This is my current "actual" 10K PR race (I do have a faster 10K within a half but I'm not counting that one.)

2. Log 60 miles of running. I'm determined to make more time to run this month. I have two races on the schedule (a half and the 10K) so it should be too hard between the races and training/maintenance.

3.  More strength training. I did some weights this weekend and am so sore today! I want to incorporate strength training a minimum of two times a week.

4. Cut back on lunches out. My office likes to eat out a lot and I'm guilty for not packing my food and tagging along (okay, so it's usually my idea!)  I have a bunch of trips planned for 2015 and it's time to start saving money. Restaurant food isn't always the healthiest either. My goal is to not eat out more than twice a week.

5. Finish Christmas Shopping. I've got a few things bought but want to get my shopping done before the end of the month. I am one of those people that actually enjoys the mall during the holidays; but, I find the best deals can be found before December 1st. Plus, I'm less rushed and tend to pick out more meaningful gifts when I start early.

What is something you want to accomplish this month?
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?

  1. Great goals!

I want to finish Christmas shopping by the end of the month too. I'm already done my mom, half done Liam and just need to go pick up my dad's so I have a good start already!

    Have a great week!

  2. I love these specific goals you are setting, so inspiring! And good call with the Christmas presents! I needed to hear that to get my booty going! Thank you, London, is SOO stinkin cute! @theFitSwitch
