October Goals & To-Do List

I like to make monthly goals. I like to-do lists in general (I blame my best friend Courtney for getting me into the habit) and putting them out there for other people to read helps keep me accountable. I don't always accomplish everything I want to but it gives me something to work towards.
I didn't make a goal list for September. I had two half marathons and was mostly focused on getting my body ready for that.
Since, I've taken the last 10 days off and, once I get rid of this cold/flu, I'm anxious to start building up my mileage again.  It's so beautiful outside right now and the temperatures are perfect for running.
I also joined a Run Club at one of our local running companies. The first run was actually last night but because it was London's birthday, and I'm sick, I skipped it to hang out with him.
OCTOBER GOALS/TO-DO LIST:

1. Attend all of the Run Club events for the rest of the month.  It's held once a week, at night, so I think I should be able to make it work with Jarod's schedule and London.
2. 50 miles of running. I logged 47 in September (low for me) so I want to build my mileage back up slowly.
3. A 25-26 minute 5K time at the Bare Bones race October 19th. It's not a PR but considering I haven't been running lately, and haven't been doing any speed work, it'll be tough but attainable.
4. Run with friends! After running the LRPS Half Marathon with Lindsey, a few weeks ago, I realized I really do love running with people. I used to be so afraid of holding people back that I would make excuses and run solo. The miles fly by when you're chatting away with someone else.
5. Plan fun activities for London. London is pretty easy to please. He loves to play hockey, go to the park and kick around a soccer ball. While the weather is still nice, I want to plan some fun activities to do together and as a family. I definitely want to take him to a pumpkin patch to find a pumpkin to carve, pick out his Halloween costume together and let him help me bake something!
What are two things you want to do this fall?

  1. That's a great list!
I would say I wish we could run together, but I would totally hold you back.

  3. Great list friend! Running with someone definitely makes the time go by so much quicker. Hopefully I can find another mom in my area when I'm off on mat leave to go running with :)
