Lots of London Time & A Race!- Weekend In Review

This weekend, I needed some quality time with London. I have been covering a murder trial, and spending lots of time with friends, and I feel like my days are really busy lately.

Friday night, I took London to watch our local hockey team play. To say he's obsessed with hockey is an understatement. It's all he talks about!

Saturday. Jarod and I decided to take advantage of a free community day at the theatre and take London to his first movie (as a toddler!) He made it about 45 minutes before yelling "all done, home!" Followed by "bye bye movie" as we were leaving the theatre, ha ha!

London and I also did some shopping for his winter wardrobe, had lunch and he fell asleep on the ride home. One of the most accomplished you can feel as a mom is when you successfully complete the car seat to bed transfer ;)

Saturday afternoon, London and I headed to Scarlett's 2nd birthday party. It was a Halloween theme so he got to wear his engineer costume he picked out a few weeks ago!

It was so fun to celebrate one of London's best buddies and Tawnya did
a great job of hosting and making the party so special with all the personal (and creative) touches!

Saturday night, we played some more hockey and then headed out to another hockey game. The local team ended up scoring on a breakaway, right in front of where we were sitting, and I will never forget London's reaction! He threw his hands up in the air and yelled "SSCCOORRREE!!" with the biggest smile on his face! Between that, and his ability to sing along to "Oh Canada" (he knows a few of the words now) it was one of our most memorable dates!

Sunday, we all slept in. I had a race at 9am so I quickly got ready and headed to the start. You can read the recap HERE . I'm really happy with how it went!!

I met my boss for coffee after the race and we swapped work and vacation stories (he's been on holidays) and it
was great to see him again. Terry is like a dad to me and just one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He's smart,
talented and funny! I'm lucky to get to
spend my days with him!

I spent the afternoon doing laundry, getting groceries and having a very over-due visit with my friend Tevi. It was an hour of free therapy!! Thank you Tevi for being so sweet and sincere. I look forward to our next girls night :)

The evening was filled with a gorgeous sunset, more hockey with London and Suits.

I am so happy I got to spend so much time with London! Next week, we are taking him to see some Monster Trucks and London is running in his second kids race!!

I hope you had a great weekend too!

  4. That's awesome London loves hockey so much. My dad is really trying to get Liam into hockey but he's not quite there yet.

The community movie day would have been really cool for Liam. He probably would have loved it!

Sounds like a perfect weekend! <3
