Half Marathon Training Update Week 8

I just finished Week 8 of my training and it didn't go well.

I had 24 miles planned but only ran 4.



I did 4 miles on Tuesday but had to stop early as I felt some knee pain. On Wednesday, it was much worse. I struggled walking up stairs and it hurt
to stand, in my bare feet, in the bathroom.

I spent the rest of the week stretching and even did some Jillian Michaels yoga. I've been foam rolling and icing as well.



Thankfully, my knee is slowly starting to feel better.

I've spent the last few days visiting my family on the west coast. I am bummed I am missing out on beach runs but happy to have my family to distract me. We have spent our days on the beach, swimming and eating gelato. I am so happy here.


I am hoping I can return to running either this week or next. My next half is September 13th so keep your fingers crossed!!!! In the meantime, I'm focusing on other things like creating memories.

  1. Glad to hear your knee is getting a bit better. Do you have some resistance bands so that you can do a little active therapy on it? Enjoy your vacation!
