Tuesdays On The Run- Running On Vacation

Once again, I'm linking up with Patty, April  and Erica for their "Tuesday On the Run" series.  Thanks for hosting ladies!

Today's topic is "Running on Vacation."

I actually wrote about this a few weeks ago before (and during) our trip to Saskatchewan. You can read those posts here and here. Basically, now that I'm a runner I always make time to run while on vacation. It's a great way to see a new place!

Since I've already talked about the subject I'm going to switch things up a bit and post the 5 places I want to run.

I would start with Central Park but I FINALLY crossed that off my race bucket list in March!! It was as amazing as I thought it was going to be!

FIVE PLACES I WANT TO RUN SOMEDAY:

1. ACROSS THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE

It's no secret I love NYC. I dream about running along the Brooklyn Bridge someday. When I was visiting NYC in March for the NYC Half Marathon I had plans to run along the bridge but something came up and we weren't able to find time. I found this link online a few months ago and will make it work next time I'm in The Big Apple. (<Do residents actually call it the big apple, or just tourists?)

2. ALONG WHITE ROCK BEACH

I grew up in White Rock, British Columbia but didn't become a runner until years after I moved away. I'm going home to visit my family next month and can't wait to run along the beach. I'm bringing the running stroller and hope to take London with me a few times.

3. GREAT WALL OF CHINA

Okay, so this may never happen, because there's a lot of places I want to go see before China, but I think running along the great wall would be pretty bad ass! I complain about the "Whoop Up" Hill in our city so I'd probably be the one crawling up the stairs ;)

4. HAWAII

I've heard amazing things about the Honolulu marathon. It's not on my race bucket list but that doesn't mean I wouldn't love to run along the beautiful coastline. I grew up near the ocean and water + running make me happy!

5. DISNEYLAND

This IS on my race bucket list. I definitely want to run disney someday! I love the idea of having the whole park to yourself (well, along with thousands of other racers) and being able to stop for photo opportunities with the characters. I'd love to take London someday and then we could make a family vacation out of it. They even have a kids race!

I also want to add CANMORE to the list because Jo keeps posting the most AMAZING photos!!  I swear I'm coming to join you for a run one day (once you're all healed of course!) Photo below stolen from JO ;)

GORGEOUS!!!

Where do you dream about running?
Who wants to come to any of the above places with me?

Have a GREAT Tuesday!

  3. Central park is on my bucket list. I've been there before but it never occurred to me to go for a run! I would love to "walk" the great Wall but quite honestly i'm afraid to fly to China...lol. I will be running Disneyland next year hopefully. Maybe I'll see you there!

  4. Great bucket list races! I want to do the Great Wall race too and I am the hugest whiner about the smallest hills, so I either have to give up that dream or actually start hill/stair training!

    1. HAHAHA! There's a HUGE hill in our city that I try and "practice" on once a week but it's nothing compared to the Great Wall! I'm sure we'd feel on top of the world after though!

  5. I was *just* looking at the Great Wall of China marathon the other day online. I've walked on the Great Wall but never considered running there. Cool list of places!

  8. Aw. Thanks for thinking of me lovey. I've always wanted to run a HM or full in Hawaii too - ie. the Maui Marathon! We should run the Legacy Trail together in the Rockies. From Banff back to Canmore.
