Half Marathon #4 Training Update Week 5

Week 5 is in the bag for my half marathon training plan. I had Monday-Wednesday off work so my mileage is a little higher than planned as I was able to squeeze in some extra runs.

Planned: (Week 5)

Actual:

Monday: Off
Tuesday: 6.5 miles- 59:01- 9:04/pace
Wednesday: 5 miles- 45:05- 8:59/pace
Thursday: Off
Friday: Off
Saturday: 8 miles- 1:12:41- 9:04/pace
Sunday: 2.3 miles- 20:12- 8:47/pace

Total mileage: 22 miles
Planned: 19 miles

I also did a few strength training workouts including Deck Of Cards.

My runs were fuelled by a new gel I'm trying out. I hope to post the full review early this week.

Besides running, we had a great weekend! Friday, I picked up a happy meal and smoothie after daycare (London loves their grilled cheese and apple slices!) and we spent the night playing at the park. I loved watching him interact with the big kids!

After my long run Saturday, I had to go to a funeral so I didn't see London until after 4. We spent the afternoon playing toys  both inside and outside!

Today, London and I ran errands and stopped at the park (where I did my deck of cards workout) and then went to the wave pool in the afternoon. It was kind of a bust so we came home and filled up his baby pool and had Popsicles.

It's back to work/daycare tomorrow! Wish us luck!

Hope you had a great weekend!!

PS if you haven't tried these yet... Dooooo it!

  2. I'm interested to see your views on Vega. I've been hearing a lot about their products but haven't looked into it very much.

  3. I really want to run 4 days a week but it is not happening these days. Maybe next week when Chad is off :) Great mileage!
I love those biscuits, they are Chad's fav, I am making them this week but use a recipe from the Two Peas and Their Pod blog.
Hope you guys have a good (second) week of daycare, thinking of you :)

    1. It's TOUGH sometimes and it helped I was on vacation this week!! Weekends are the easiest because I usually run first thing or when London naps. Week days I just feel so rushed from 6am-10pm LOL! You're still so speedy! You're going to KILL the half!!! xx
