Weekend in Review & Unplugging

I want to start by, again, wishing all the father figures in my life a very Happy Father's Day! I'm so lucky. I love you all!

We had a great weekend! Friday I snuck out of work for a coffee break and met my mom and London at the mall. I taught him how to throw coins into this pond only to be told you aren't supposed to, haha! Trouble makers

Saturday Jarod took London for a hair cut and to run some errands.

I took advantage of the free time and worked out. I did T25 for the first time. Becky let me borrow her discs when I met up with her in Calgary a few weeks ago. I loved the first one (each workout is 25 minutes) and was sweating about 5 minutes in! I followed it up with one mile speed intervals. Now that I have a short break between training for a race, I want to focus on strength training, specifically my core and arms.

Side note: Becky is running a #sundayfunday feature on her blog so if you log some weekend miles, send her a photo and details so she can add you to the list!

It was pouring rain so we stayed inside
the rest of the afternoon. I decided it
would be fun to organize my workout clothes since they make up more than half of my wardrobe. It was time to let go of a few pieces that don't fit/I don't like.

When it cleared up that night, London and I went and jumped in puddles! It was so fun! I love being silly with him!

I had a nice relaxing bubble bath and called it a night early.

This morning we celebrated Fathers Day with a family breakfast. Jarod only wanted on thing, to watch the US Open alone, so London, mom and I headed to Calgary for some shopping! We left early (830) and didn't come back until supper time.

I found a bed frame I want to buy at Ikea but it wouldn't fit in the car with the car seat so I'll have to go back.

Then it was off to Chinook where I found lots of clothes (for London) photo frames for the gym area and playroom and a pillow for our spare room.

After all that sitting in the car I was ready to sweat. Jarod watched London while I ran a quick 5K before supper.

The best part of the day was unplugging. I brought my phone, for emergencies, but left it off. It was nice to just enjoy being with my family and not feeling the need to constantly check my phone.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

When was the last time you unplugged for a day?
Do your workout clothes make up most of your wardrobe?
What was the highlight of your weekend?

  3. That bubble bath. I want it. Yes, I definitely have way more workout clothes than regular gear. Thanks for the reminder that I need to organize all my stuff too. It's like a bomb went off in my closet/dresser!
