Saying (A Temporary) Goodbye To Mom

So, I'm taking a break from my usual "Things I'm Loving Friday" for a really good (sad) reason.

Tomorrow, my mom is moving back to White Rock. Today, we are spending the whole day together doing some of our favourite things.

Last year, I told you my I had the BEST NEWS EVER! My mom and stepdad  were moving from White Rock, B.C. to Lethbridge to help take care of London while I went back to work full-time. I haven't lived in the same city as them since I was 17 so I was unbelievable happy!! My mom had recently retired and offered to come help since I was nervous about daycare. My stepdad commuted back and forth from his job in Fort McMurray.

My mom and I are very close. I can honestly say she is my best friend. Before she lived here we talked, every day, at least once. I tell her everything (sometimes too much, haha) and I can always count on her no matter what.

The last year has been one of the best years of my life. I got to see my mom EVERY SINGLE DAY. I got to SEE her instead of just hear her on the other end of the phone. She helped decorate our place, planted flowers and pretty much did all our laundry (and dishes & tidying up!!!)  I got to drop by for supper, meet up for coffee and go see movies together. I didn't take a single moment for granted.

She took care of London five days a week while Jarod and I were at work. Plus, babysat when we needed to do something. I never ONCE worried about London. He was in the absolute best hands. We met for coffee/shopping/park dates at least once a week while I was working (often more--don't tell my boss!) and she would text me photos and updates every single day. They had so much fun time together on their daily outfits, shopping trips and at the park.

They formed an incredible bond and shared so many special times. London loves his Nana so much (and his Grandpa!) and I know they will be close forever.

My mom hates having her photo taken but I'm so happy I was able to convince her to let me snap a few over the past year.

Thank you mom for absolutely EVERYTHING you had done for me, and my family, the last year. I will never be able to say thank you enough. You are an incredible person and I'm so lucky to call you my mom. To say I'm going to miss you, is an understatement. I will miss you more than I can put into words right now.

I love you,

Kaella (London and Jarod)

P.S. See you in August (already counting down the sleeps....)

I'm off to run the Color Run with some girlfriends and blogger friends tomorrow! Stay tuned for a recap :)
