A Run 9 Years In The Making (Weekend in Review)

Every day I drive by this trail that leads up a big hill with a bench on top. Every day, for the past nine years, I've told myself I need to walk up it. When I started running I decided I wanted to run it. I wanted to reach the top and sit on the bench. Today, I did it.

I stopped to catch my breath and take a few photos and then stopped at the top and sat on that bench I had looked at for the past nine years. It was amazing!

Overall 7 miles for the day and 19 for the week.

I spent the rest of the day outside! We set up London's water toys and invited friends over. It was perfect! We sat on the deck having beers and the kids played. I see a lot of weekends spent like this this summer!

I put on sunscreen but stil managed to get a pretty good burn! I must be more careful next time!

As for the rest of the weekend... Well, Jarod was away, so it was just mom, London and I. Friday we stayed home and took it easy.

Saturday morning I went for a 5 mile stroller run and London ran his first race!! Recap HERE.

Saturday afternoon I got my hair done and then we went out for a delicious supper at Firestone!

Mom sprayed a table for our spare room for me.

Then, we all stayed up until 11 because London didn't want to go to bed! He was up before 6am today!

We made it to Home Depot, Costco and Save On today before my big hill run.

And then, we wrapped up the weekend with a nice walk around the neighbourhood after supper.

It was my mom's last weekend before she moves home and I couldn't have wished for a better way to spend it, then together! Now I just have to not get too sad the next few days... :(

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Any runs/trails you really want to try?
Are you close with your Mom? Dad?

  1. So proud of you! I would've died lol.
I'm really close with my Mom :-) So spoiled too since she lives 5 mins away.

  2. Nice job on running that big hill! Hills are tough. Sounds like you had a great weekend. Sorry to hear that your mom is moving away :( All of my family lives in ON and my in-laws are in Edmonton, so we don't have any family super close. It's definitely not easy!
