A Race, A Missing Run & Half Marathon Training Update

How is that for a long winded title? Clearly, I have a lot on my mind!

So, Friday I took the day off work to spend with my mom before she  moved back home. We had breakfast, went shopping and then headed out to one of our favourite spots for lunch. Broxburn Farm grows all their own fruits and vegetables for their cafe on site. Their food is amazing and there's lots of open space (including a huge slide and playground) for kids to run around.



We spent London's nap hanging some photos in the spare room and my basement gym. 


That night, mom and I went for a nice drive around the city. We stopped by our favourite places and reminisced. We ended up on the patio at Moxies and had a delicious supper. 


We said goodbye before bed (only a few tears!) as she was leaving at 4:30am to drive the 13 hours home!

I was up at 5 as a few of us were going to Calgary for the Colour Me Rad 5K. You can read that recap HERE


I got home around 4:30 and London hadn't had a nap all day so he passed out on my chest for an hour. 


We spent the night at home playing with toys, reading books and watching a few episodes of Bubble Guppies. We also went for a quick walk and he had to bring along his goodbye present from Nana... a bubble-blowing lawn mower! We were in bed by 9:30!


This morning, London and I headed to the Dragonboat Festival and ended up staying there from about 9am to 12:30. There was so much to see and do and we both had a blast! 


He fell asleep in his stroller so I ran a quick mile around the lake and then sat and read my book while he napped. I treated him to ice cream before heading home.

I wanted to reach my monthly goal of 60 miles so I ran 3.12 on the treadmill to get me to 62. Woot Woot! 

Unfortunately, Nike somehow deleted my run so it only says 58 now... Does anyone know how to get my run back?


So this was week 2 of my Half Marathon #4 Training Plan. How did I do?

Planned: 15 miles 

Actual: 10 miles (plus the Colour Me Rad Race)

Because it was my mom's last week I chose to hang out with her, rather than run or workout most days. Time to step it up this week before my holidays start!

Now it's time to make supper and watch Big Brother!

  1. You can manually add runs into Nike+ if you go to Activity, there's a plus sign on the right corner.
    I had an awesome weekend seeing you guys yesterday and today was a lazy day at home by myself!

  2. Nike + can be such a bitch sometimes... I wish I knew how to edit and add runs! I'm totally watching Big Brother, no faves yet though... it usually takes me a few episodes to warm up to the contestants!

    Such a fun weekend :) Can't wait for the run in September!!

    1. Becky just told me you can add runs by clicking the plus sign!!! Yay!! So helpful for treadmill runs when my phone thinks I've run too far! I'm excited for September!!

  5. Yay for BB! I don't have cable anymore so I have to wait until the next day when the episode goes up on Global to watch. Which means I have to stay away from all the twitter spoilers! I hate all the twists this year, classic is much better.
