London Update 17 months

Oh my sweet boy, you are getting so big and I can't believe you're almost a year and a half now!

You're truly a toddler. Very independent, a sponge, and easily frustrated. You repeat everything! Words (up to 2-3) and sounds!

You also know a lot more now on your own including "high chair, water, drink, snack, toys, book, hut hut (for football) and (teeth.) <I'm sure there's more but that's all I can think of now.

You're still sleeping in your big boy bed although I end up in there 5/7 nights because you're still up at least five or six times. You're in bed between 8:30-9:930 and up between 5:30-6:30 (although you did sleep in until 7 twice last month which was amazing!!)

You also fall asleep in the car seat from time to time. You're napping once a day around 12 pm for about 2 hours.

You're still in size 5 diapers and almost entirely size 2T clothes.

You're almost grown out of my favourite black peacoat which makes me so sad! I love that coat!

You're coming out of your shell in public and enjoy interacting with other people and children! The best way to break the ice with you is to pick up a ball and play "catch."

You're tall-- towering over your friends tall! I can't wait until your 18 month shots on April 3rd so we can get you measured and weighed (in guessing around 32-34 pounds) although you really have slimmed out lately so maybe a little less. I think it's all the running (literally) you do all day every day!

You love to read books and love pointing out animals and making their sounds. You also love the number 6 and will shout it out after you hear 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.... It's so crazy! I think you're a genius hahaha! Nana is also working on your colours with you. So far you have "Bleew" down and can get "Rid" sometimes.

You're becoming a somewhat picky eater. You love fruit and carbs but recently decided you don't like cheese (<your old favourite!) and veggies!! Breakfast and lunch is easy but suppers are becoming harder and harder! Your favourites are probably oatmeal or pancakes for breakfast, grilled cheese or pb and j for lunch with apple slices and hot dogs with ketchup and pasta for supper. You also love rice and will eat every last scoop of yogurt (Greek) and apple sauce! Oh, and you'll down fruit cups whenever we give you one! You're still drinking goats milk although I'm hoping to switch you eventually as it's know 750 for a litre!!!! Crazy!!

We also gave you juice last month and of course you love! Thankfully you still love water because you won't drink milk from anything but a bottle. You do like smoothies as well but only take a few sips so you only get them when I'm having one.

You're starting gymnastics this month and we are also signing you up for swimming lessons. We both love to be out and about with friends and other children so I'm sure you'll love both! You're a fish, like mommy, and love the water and gymnastics will allow you somewhere to burn off that never ending energy.

You're so funny little boy! You make the best faces, laugh at our jokes (even though I'm not sure you know what's so hilarious) and dance to anything and everything with a beat!

You also love to clean and are obsessed with the vacuum!

At the same time you're really a boy... Messy, love making fart noises and getting dirty! You love watching and playing sports and doing whatever daddy is doing!

You're also so sweet and come over for hugs and kisses unprompted and love to be held to dance around the living room or just cooking in the kitchen.

You've been teething a lot lately. I think you have at least 12-13 (?) teeth now but I haven't had a good look in there. There's at least 4 molars though. Poor guy! I know those hurt popping through!

I'm leaving you overnight for the first time in two weeks to go away for four nights to NYC! I'll miss you so much but have taken the day before and after off to cuddle and play with you. I know the break will be good for both of us and you're going to have so much fun with daddy and nana!

I love you with all my heart London. I couldn't imagine my life without you. Thank you for making me a mommy (or daddy in your words lol!)

Love Mommy
