Our Nursing Journey

London,

Last night our nursing journey officially came to an end. I call it a journey because we certainly had our fair share of ups and downs (as I have mentioned in previous posts!) but there were also so many beautiful, special and unforgettable moments along the way.

I'll never forget you finally latching on (after 48 hours!!) in hospital.

I'll never forget the way you would fall asleep when eating, or moments after, as a newborn. You'd stay cuddled in my arms and put your head on my chest and I wouldn't move until you did. "They" said I was holding you too much and I can tell you now, and forever, I never regretted a single moment. There was no where else I wanted to be.

Every single time you nursed you would play with the straps on my shirt. You also recently started saying "switch" when you finished on one side, which your daddy and I found hilarious! You also loved playing with my face and sometimes would let me hold you hand.

While I'm a little sad to be officially done I know it is time. I have never produced a lot of milk and knew my supply was almost drained. You knew it was time too... Although you did come jump on me and pull back my shirt tonight. I skipped our feed Wedneaday because of my stomach bug and you've started to cry out for your bottle (we have given you for a top up) a lot sooner... Last night you only lasted a few minutes each side and then we were done.

I'm so proud of our journey together! 16 months and 7 days little man!

I'll never forget it!

Love Mommy
Xx

On to the next chapter...
