Our days

**sappy post ahead**

Time is flying. I'm officially back to work in less than a month.

We've been spending our days together. I don't want to go on a date night or go for long runs (unless you're sleeping) because I'm truly trying to soak up every moment I can with you.

Every single mom I know used to tell me they felt ready to go back to work during their maternity leave. I don't feel that way. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my job but I love being your mommy much more. Days at home with you are fulfilling and rewarding. I feel like this is what I was truly meant to do.

Sadly, I need to go to work so we can afford this beautiful new house and to put money aside for your future education. I'm going to work because I have to; and, I know it's what's best for our family right now.

Our baby monitor broke a few days ago so I have been using that as an excuse to cuddle with you for laps. I don't need the monitor when you're in your crib but I prefer to hold you in my arms. I've teared up many times as I kiss your forehead and think about the fact these moments are going to be few and far between soon. This is what I woke up to today....

I am not sad all the time though (although this is making me seem like it, haha!) You make me laught and smile more than ever. You are truly one hilarious, smart boy! I have so much fun with you!! Today we went to the pond and fed the ducks. You wanted to eat the bread (you still love your food) but were okay with me throwing it in the water.

Then we played in the leaves and headed to the park.

You love going down the slide by yourself and always point to the top of it as soon as you slide down. I could watch you play for hours!

This was last week when Cloe was here! Just look at that smile on your face!

You also learned how to make funny faces today...

And youade a bit of a mess when you discovered an open package of oatmeal I'm the pantry today while mommy and daddy were trying to decide what to make for supper.

Oh and lately you've decided to become a basketball star thanks to your birthday gift from Nana and Grandpa!

Daddy is playing hockey tonight so I just snuck into your room and pulled you out of your crib so I can sleep with you. This was the two of you last night cute!! He loves you so much buddy and I know it's hard for him to be away from you all day!

I'm savouring every nap, every meal together, every new adventure.

I'm going to miss this so much....

Love Mommy
