Fitness Goals

I was reading my friend Becky's blog the other day and she talked about how she had hired a nutrition coach to help get her eating back on track and hopefully lose the rest of the baby weight. She also posted about her fitness goals and it got me thinking about my own fitness bucket list.

1. Lose the baby weight. I am down to my pre-pregnancy weight. I am proud of myself. It was hard work!!

2. Run a colour run! Completed early this month in Calgary and loved it! I will definitely do it again next year.

To Do:

1. Get stronger. I used to work out at the gym five days a week. I enjoyed cardio but I also loved lifting weights and loved feeling strong. I want to work on getting my body strength to where it was before I got pregnant. Specifically, my focus is to tone up my arms, legs and stomach. I love the saying "Strong is the new Skinny!"

2. Run a half marathon. I used to think people who ran were crazy but, after I had London, I discovered I loved it!! Not only that, but I loved races and challenging myself to push my limits! I want to run a half marathon before I hopefully get pregnant again. I am signed up for my first one in a few weeks-- the Lethbridge Regional Police's "Alberta Torch Run" for Special Olympics. I am excited to cross this off my fitness bucket list soon!

3. Take a dance class. I used to be a cheerleader and I took dance classes for five years when I first moved here but stopped a few years ago. I would love to get back into this. I love to dance!

4. Join a run club. I have always preferred to run solo. I am always afraid that I may be too slow to keep up with others; however, I ran one race with a friend recently and ended up enjoying it. We really pushed each other and set a new PR (personal record.) I would love to meet other people who enjoy running as much as I do.

5. Complete a mud race. I love the idea of combining running and obstacles and getting dirty! I am signing up for one next May!

I'm excited to tackle this list and continue focusing on being the best me I can be! I think fitness is so important for both myself and my family.

  1. This is awesome, Kaella! I have been thinking about making my exercise goals public, but it's one area of my life that I am so insecure about! Good for you for putting it out there!!
