First Steps

You've been assisted walking for quite some time. You walk with your walker, push chairs/toys across the floor or just use the wall and other objects to move from place to place. For a few weeks now you have taken one or two steps towards me and I could tell you were getting close to walking!

Well, the other night (August 19th) Daddy and I were playing with you on the floor and you crawled over to the railing by the stairs and stood up (as you do quite a bit!) You were just staring at your activity table that was about three feet away from you and I said to your daddy "he looks like he is about to start walking!" Sure enough, you let go of the railing and took five steps to your toy!

Your daddy and I both clapped and I felt tears well up in my eyes! We were both so proud of you!! Of course, we had to call Nana and tell her and then Skype with Grandma so she could see you in action. You spent the next fourty-five minutes showing off your new skill.

A few days later, we went to the new house to look around and decided to practice walking with you in our new bedroom. It has the softest carpet and you seemed to love walking on it! You walked from one side of the room to the other, quite a few times, and I was able to capture a few videos!

Since then, you have been practicing your walking. You don't do it too often but you can see how proud you are of yourself when you do!

You are growing up so fast my baby boy! Crawling at 8.5 months and walking at 10.5 months. I can't wait to continue to watch you learn and experience new things.

Love Mommy
