Driving to the cabin

Every July, Jarod and I make the six hour trip to his family's cabin at Buffalo Pound Lake in Saskatchewan. We spend a week reading, boating, playing boardgames/cards and eating!! This year, we get to share the fun with London!

I was a little worried about how he would handle the drive. He spent the first twenty minutes crying/screaming but eventually passed out.

We left at 1230 and he usually goes down for a nap between 1 and 2. He slept for two and a half hours, waking up between Medicine Hat and Swift Current. I moved into the back seat and entertained him with toys, books and snacks!

We got to Swift Current and stopped for fast food. London and daddy played in the play place at McDonalds for 45 minutes and he crashed as soon as we got back into the car for our finally two hour stretch.

He woke up about 45 minutes later and was really happy!!!

My dad, who is in England visiting family, called us on Skype and them my mom did too a few minutes later. It was great to talk to them and London loved seeing his Grandad and Nana.

Before I knew it we were pulling into the cabin! Grandpa, Grandma, Auntie Kim and Uncle Colton were here to greet us and London had fun staying up wayyyy past his bedtime (10 o'clock!) and playing with all his new toys!

The first full day is off to an interesting start! London decided it would be fun to wake up at 545 this morning but is already done for a nap now (8:30!!) I just tried going for a run but it started pouring a mile out and I got soaked lol!! Hopefully it clears up so we can go out on the boat!!

 I love family vacation!
